Best of Leeds Beer Gardens
April 2026
Green Room
Green Room joined the long list of Leeds beer gardens last year and has since become a very popular spot for the city. Head down there for a delicious brunch in the morning with a North Star coffee or come by in the evenings for great DJs and cocktail offers. The beer selection comes mostly from local breweries, a great selection to choose from for your sunny pint.
The menu also boasts jugs of sangria and Pimms in the summer, the ideal drink to share with friends. Expect barbecues and other events all summer long at Green Room.

Whitelock’s & The Turk’s Head
Leeds’ oldest pub, Whitelock’s Ale House, is tucked away down a city centre alleyway and is an ideal spot for a pint in the sunshine. They share their long, narrow beer garden with sister bar The Turk’s Head and on a summer’s afternoon it’s a complete suntrap.
The rows of wooden benches make for a cosy spot to sit with your mates and enjoy a real ale or a lovely Yorkshire beer. Make sure you come hungry, because they know how to do classic pub grub like fish & chips and their iconic roast. Don’t worry about the unpredictable English weather, the whole beer garden is covered in heaters!

Headrow House
Known for being one the coolest places to hang out in Leeds, Headrow House rooftop is the perfect place to spend a sunny day. With Djs on every weekend, two levels of seating and a fully stocked bar you could easily spend the whole day here.
Climb the stairs up to Kennedy Meadow and take in the views of Leeds with an Aperol Spritz in hand. There’s also an extensive selection of craft beers and tank-fresh Budvar, alongside a great cocktail menu.

Water Lane Boathouse
This idyllic spot sat right on the River Aire is a lovely and relaxing spot to spend a hot day. Big benches stretch out beside the water with huge parasols over them if you need them. The drinks selection is great and there are offers on gin and cocktails every single day.
Known not only for the huge beer garden, Water Lane Boathouse has a fantastic food menu with Neapolitan-style pizzas and loaded burgers. The pizzas are half-price every Sunday, a perfect excuse to end the week with a pint and a bite.

Lamb & Flag
Tucked behind Leeds Minister, Lamb & Flag has a gorgeous courtyard with cosy string lights and comfy orange seating. They specialise in Leeds Brewery favourites and cask ales served cold, ready to help cool you down on a hot day. If you can’t get a seat in the beer garden, and they do get very busy, there’s also a lovely little balcony where you can sit and watch the world go by.
Hungry? No problem. The classic pub food is some of the best in Leeds from the famous Yorkshire Dales burger to classic fish and chips, it’s all delicious! On a Sunday, you can of course grab a huge roast with all the extras.

Nation of Shopkeepers
A Nation of Shopkeepers is a real Leeds hidden gem – food, art, beer and live music in the heart of Leeds.
Split into two, you can sit in the sunshine or stay undercover for some shade. Craft beers from local and national breweries are on the taps or you can sample a range of spirits and mixers if you fancy.

If… Rooftop
The best way to get an even tan is to have the sun at every angle, that’s what you get with If… Rooftop. With stunning views all over the city, comfy seats and deck chairs it’s a great place to bring someone visiting Leeds for the first time.
Grab a picnic table, bench or garden table, enjoy the sounds of DJs and enjoy a very tempting drinks offering – craft beers of course are featured as well as their famous frozen margaritas.

Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen
Known around Leeds as a ‘hipster paradise’, Belgrave Music Hall not only moonlights as one the city’s best gig venues, they also have a huge beer garden on the roof. The sun-trap rooftop has plenty of space to sit and on busier days there’s a rooftop bar to enjoy an Aperol Spritz at.
Craft beer fans are going to love it here– beers from Kirkstall and Five Points are staples, alongside local and global favourites. You’d do well to turn up hungry too as you can sample a slice from DoughBoy pizzas or a big burger and loaded fries from Patty Smiths.
